> Dr. Judith Torney–Purta, professor in the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology, was one of 14 education researchers nationwide to be elected to the National Academy of Education. Election into the Academy is one of the most prestigious honors bestowed upon education researchers.

> COE launched Terrapin Teachers to increase the number of high-quality secondary science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) teachers.

> COE Doctoral Student Jessica Bennett and Alumna Dr. Annie Stevens contribute to White House Task Force on Campus Sexual Assault.

> COE’s Counseling Program ranks No. 1 for the fifteenth year by US News & World Report.

> Professors Ellen Fabian and Debra Neubert of the Department of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education received a grant to establish a national resource center in order to improve vocational rehabilitation outcomes for youths and young adults with disabilities who are transitioning into the workforce. Funded by a five-year, $4.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, this resource center is a collaborative effort between several partners.
