> COE’s Maryland Institute for Minority Achievement and Urban Education presented its Spring 2010 colloquium series – providing new tools for a new generation. The invitation-only event was designed to help mathematics teachers add knowledge and skill to their quest of becoming ‘culturally competent’ educators.

> Education psychology doctoral program ranks #1 in nation by Contemporary Educational Psychology. The rankings were based on institutions publication of articles in education journals during the five-year time period from 2003-2008.

> Astronaut Ricky Arnold speaks to a group of early childhood education majors and high school students about becoming future teachers. Before Astronaut Richard Arnold (’92) ever became a space crusader, he was a science teacher who understood the value of math and science and how proper student assessment could lead to a lifetime of career possibilities in the sciences.
